From the road, the cottage, with its dove grey painted exterior and dark grey windows and door frame looks the picture-perfect Cornish cottage. The tarmac drive leads up to the front door and the large mature garden wraps around the entire property and is fenced to the front with view across fields and beyond to the back.
Step through the front door into the spacious open plan sitting room and kitchen with its warm Karndean floor – this beautiful flooring features throughout the cottage upstairs and down. The neutral colours of the cottage interior reflect the exterior; white, cool grey and soft beige, giving the cottage a very contemporary feel which belies its age. At the far end of the room a smart electric flame effect fire provides a focus for the seating area. While the kitchen to the left is separated by a light grey marble effect breakfast bar with two scoop backed grey stools. The kitchen units have a grey laminate effect finish with smart chrome handles and run along the entire end wall - providing plenty of work surface and storage – just what you need in the kitchen. There’s a large integrated fridge freezer, oven, hob and extractor fan above, plus a slim line dishwasher tucked under the stainless-steel sink and drainer. The downstairs has deep window sills to the front windows – large enough to sit in and revealing the depth of these traditional cottage walls.
A door to the back garden leads to a neat little outhouse which serves as a laundry/utility room, with electrics and plumbing ready for a washing machine and tumble dryer.
One of the stunning features of this cottage is the metal staircase that runs up the back of the sitting room. The stairs are encased with a floor to ceiling glass panel running up the side of the galvanised steel effect metal steps. This same galvanised steel also provides a striking surround for the fireplace. At the top of the staircase is the sparkly new bathroom with it moulded ‘pea’ shaped shower bath with chrome effect shower above and curved glass panel. The walls are a continuous grey and brown marble effect panel – which looks superb and is easy to keep clean and looking like new. The new basin and toilet complete the fresh modern look.
There are two bedrooms upstairs. A good sized rectangular double with a generous sized built in wardrobe and the Master bedroom with a single built in wardrobe. Both have windows to the front letting in plenty of natural light.
The cottage benefits from smart new economical electric heaters throughout with down lighters in each room.
PEACH THOUGHTS: We think this lovely cottage ticks so many boxes, combining traditional charm outside with a sleek modern interior. It has a definite wow factor on entry and will be snapped up by some lucky soul very soon!
